My top 5 juice recipes to try this winter

We’re all guilty of skipping our greens on occasion, but did you know that getting your 5-a-day is essential for maintaining optimum hair health? Juicing is one of the most effective ways to get a huge dose of all our vitamins and minerals in one shot. For fabulous hair and skin it is vital that you feed your body well and juicing takes care of just that, but don’t be fooled by shop bought juices – more often than not, they are so highly processed and pasteurised that all the goodness has been zapped out.

Long gone are the days where we have to force feed ourselves salads and sprouts – juicing is the way forward and you can easily cram 10 portions into one glass! Certain fruit and vegetables are particularly good for promoting hair health and reducing hair loss, so to make it easy for you, we have put together our favourite juicing recipes for you to try at home. Alternatively, you can easily make up your own juicing recipes with all your favourites!

My juicing recipes have been carefully designed specifically for happy, shiny hair by using raw, natural ingredients that we know work wonders. Here’s why:

CARROTS

Carrots are super rich in vitamin A, which conditions the scalp, helps to maintain hair health and improves texture. If that wasn’t enough, carrots are also great for preventing hair loss and as such, leads to thicker, stronger locks.

LEAFY GREENS

Leafy greens such as kale, lettuce and spinach are one of the best things you can put into your juicing creations, full stop. They are jam packed with nutrients, including vitamins B, A, C, K and E as well as a good, healthy dose of calcium. All of these elements lead to the balancing of sebum production and amazingly shiny (but not at all greasy) hair!

CUCUMBER

Cucumber is a lovely, refreshing addition to any juicing recipe, particularly when teamed with mint on a hot, summer’s day. But that’s not all cucumber has to offer: Rich in sulfur, manganese, potassium and the extremely important silica, this is a no brainer for stunning tresses.
